Baseball Murals as Decor Pieces - From Yesterday and Today
The folks at apartment therapy have touched on a subject that is always going to be near and dear to me: baseball. They've also combined with another topic that is close to my world as well: wall murals. Combining the two has always been something that has caught the collective sports fans imagination. Baseball murals date back all the way to the beginning of the sport itself. Whether they were used as an advertising piece or an accent piece in a restaurant the national pastime has always been the subject that has been right for nostalgia and American interest.
Custom Baseball Murals of the Past
The part of baseball that is the golden era in my opinion, the 40s and 50s, is where I think you'll find a lot of the inspiration for today's baseball murals. Whether it was the fact that other sports that are more popular today had not reached prominence or that the Yankees of the era were just so likable a lot of the images you will find today look like they've come from that era.

Vintage Looks with Modern Materials
I remember when we first got into this business one of the first murals that I ever did was a giant mural of Fenway Park. It did not take me long to imagine turning my bedroom into the view from home plate at The Ballpark in Arlington with a baseball mural. (Go Rangers!) At present however my room is decorated in a vintage look that would be perfect for the baseball murals of yesteryear. I think half of the baseball murals that the people at apartment therapy came up with would fit right into my bedroom's interior decor scheme. I even have a photo of Babe Ruth's final goodbye already on the wall.
What kind of baseball murals do you guys think would be an amazing addition to your living space?
